Why Your Business Needs a Blog

A blog turns your website from an advertisement to a showcase of your talents and knowledge. When you write about what you know, people know that’s what you know (does that make sense?)

Blogging is a great marketing tool. As a blogger, I may be a tad bit bias. But, I honestly have seen results in my business come directly from my blog. I’m a social media expert, adulting expert, and a business expert. Why? Because people get that impression of me through my blog. I’ve crafted that impression by creating posts on that topic. And you can, too!

So, stop putting it off and start writing! Here’s why you should give it a go.

Show Your Expertise

As mentioned previously, the best thing about blogging is that it gives you a chance to show what you know! Potential clients are more likely to trust you when they see you write about your expertise. Show off that you are an expert in your field to gain credibility.

I write about social media, branding, blogging, and adulting. I’ve had multiple potential clients ask me about my services without knowing me in any way. However, when they read a nicely crafted post about a service they need in their business like blogging. They want to know more about me and what I know. They may even buy from me!

Perfect Writing Skills

No matter what industry you’re in, it’s important to know how to write. Reading and writing blogs really helps me hone in on my skill. Written communication is more important now than ever. People spend a great deal of time reading blog, articles, and content online.

Writing is also a skill that is easy to lose if you are not doing it enough. Blogging gives you the opportunity to keep your skills sharp! If they are not, people will notice (including your customers!)

Showcase Company Culture

Another thing that I love about blogging is that it gives me a chance to show my personality or culture of my business. If you are in a business where professionalism is key, you can show that in your writing style. If you’re business is a little more laid back and fun, you can throw in some jokes for a laugh.

The culture of your business is important to your customer or future employees. They want to know who they are working with. Blogging gives you an opportunity to show them exactly who!

Easily Shareable

A blog post can travel anywhere. Someone in a different country can be reading your posts at any time. They want to share some of your expertise with their friend so they post it on their social media page. This makes your expertise and knowledge not just something that sits in your head. But, something the world is seeing.

Creating a blog has more benefits that negatives. What’s holding you back from doing so? Comment below!
