Hello Spring,

How nice of you to show up with your May showers, flowers, and jacket weather. It really has been swell. But, we can’t forget you also brought your high pollen count, ever changing temperature, and those constant. May. showers. As much as I’ve enjoyed the constant eye rubbing and being unsure of what to wear. I’m just wondering when you’re planning on leaving? I have a friend named Summer that I can’t wait to see. I just don’t have room for you both.

You see, Summer brings certain things with it that you just haven’t been able to provide. Do you know that temperatures can be above 70 degrees or that the sun can make an appearance instead of rain (Please stop it with the May showers)? I’m just wondering because it seems like not.

This isn’t just about the weather. Summer gives us so much to celebrate, too. We’ve got fun holidays like Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and even Flag Day. I just need a reason to load up the car with red, white, and blue decorations, barbecue equipment, and fireworks. I want to be out of the house, enjoying the suns rays and feeling free! I love jackets but I really just want to be in a tank top, shorts, and some comfortable flip flops. The only reason I go near my eyes is to put on some sunglasses, not to scratch from allegies!

It’s been real, Spring, so real. But, I’m just ready for a change. We can try things again next year, but for now I just want Summer. I hope you understand. But, you’re definitely invited to the Independence Day picnic this year. See you soon!
