My Recap of the Success Her Way Summit 2019

I’m so inspired and motivated after attending and sponsoring the Success Her Way Summit! As a sponsor, I was mentioned at the conference and was able to attend. So glad I did this!

The Success Her Way Summit was founded by LaShawn Reed-Kendricks, a business coach and empowerment speaker. I met LaShawn at a speaking engagement I had called “Your Network is Your Network” with Gail Richards. The moment she spoke, I was instantly inspired. So, when I heard about the summit, I knew that I wanted to be apart of it.

The Summit

The summit was held at the Signature of Solon which was a beautiful space. The building looked amazing! As I walked in, I was greeted and led upstairs to registration. Before entering the conference space, I was able to see the many vendors and speaker tables.

Once I walked in, I was instantly impressed. The very first thing I noticed was all the melanin in the room. I was ecstatic to see so many ambitious black women in one room! The vibes were high and I was ready to learn!

The Speakers

After listening to some tunes by DJ Yulissa, the host, Lashawn, graced us with her gorgeous orange dress. The energy really picked up when she entered. She kicked us off with some words and expectations for the day.

Next, we heard from an array of speakers. I learned so much that day from each person. Heard some inspiring stories that made me excited for my business. Plus, my mentor, TerDawn Deboe of Creative Thought Solutions shouted me out during her talk including her event that I’m speaking at (post for that one coming soon!)

The Experience

This was the first conference of this size that I’ve sponsored, so that was great! My logo was on the website and I got a person shout out from Lashawn herself! I met some great people and said caught up with others. The food was so good, as well as the snacks and beverages provided.

But, this best part of the experience for me was seeing other people who looked like me trying to achieve a common goal. Hearing success stories, talking about being an entrepreneur and truly feeling included in the community was the ultimate experience for me!

If you were not able to attend the Success Her Way Summit this year, make sure you’re there in 2020!
