A great way to engage and gain followers on Twitter is through Twitter chats. A Twitter chat is where a group of Twitter users come together to talk about a similar subject. There is a host who normally asks a series of questions over a period of time and others answer those questions and reply to others.
Twitter chats are great for growing a following because you can focus your Twitter chat strategy to certain subjects. You could participate in chats about marketing, social media and even Twitter. Which opens up possibilities to connect with other entrepreneurs or your target audience.
The best ways to find Twitter chats is to either search in your industry or with influencers on your industry.
Twitter chats that I enjoy participating in are @crowdfire’s #CFchat, @hootsuite’s #hootchat and @ChelseaKrost’s #MillennialTalk. Follow these pages to be notified when their chats begin.
To participate in a Twitter chat, you simply head to the host’s page at the dedicated time and reply to the questions asked. There is normally a hashtag that you can use to keep track of the participants. Next, you look at the replies on the original tweet and reply to others who are in the chat.
